Plantation Connection is run by Craig Lawrance, a lot owner at Albemarle Plantation in Hertford, NC. It's for neighbors and for visitors, on land or on the water, who want to know what's open and what's going on.

The Albemarle Plantation Property Owners Association, the marina, the restaurants and the golf course don't run this site, and it doesn't speak for them. So check with them before you go.

• Every item says where it came from. If a fact has no source, it isn't here.
• The weather comes from the National Weather Service, refreshed about every half hour, and alerts about every 5 minutes.
• Fuel prices are read from the marina's own website every 6 hours, and they show the date the marina posted them.
• "Posted today" shows short staff posts from the Association's Engage site, on the golf course, the pool and closings, usually within 15 minutes and exactly as titled. Each drops off when its day is over. If the feed stops, the page stops saying "Nothing posted today."
• Hours and notices are checked by hand, and each notice has its own last day.

The site itself uses no cookies, no tracking or analytics scripts, and no outside fonts or scripts. The only thing it stores in your browser is your light or dark mode choice. It collects nothing from you: there are no forms and no accounts.

The web host, GoDaddy, adds its own performance-monitoring script to every page it serves. That script isn't part of this site's files, and it sets three cookies (_tccl_visitor, _tccl_visit and _scc_session). The host also keeps standard server logs, which include visitors' IP addresses, and turns them into visit counts. We look only at the totals.

If you email us, your email is kept like any other, and your address is never sold or shared.
